This lecture touches back to our two core text authors,
Clark and Sinclair, and analyzes them, as myth-makers and nation-makers, in
the terms of two great world historians, William McNeill and Benedict
Anderson. In doing so, it leads to discussion of the purposes and values we
embrace as historians.
